The Nigerian Army has denied its involvement in the killing of unharmed civilians at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on Tuesday night.
The denial was publicised with no official statement but captions on news items published on the incident.

The incident, tagged ‘Lekki Massacre’ and ‘Black Tuesday’, has attracted both local and international condemnation, while Nigerians all over the world continued to express anger at elected and military leaders.
The Army has however denied its involvement with a series of screenshots with ‘Fake News’ and ‘No soldiers were at the scene’ captions on its official Facebook page.
