The Lagos State Government has extended the opening hours of food and non-food markets in the state.
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed, on Sunday.
Markets are now expected to open between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The statement said Governor Babajide Sanwoolu made the decision ”to further enhance trade and commerce as well as mitigate the hardship of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
It however added that “the alternate days of operations will remain in force whereby food markets open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday while non-food markets open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.”
