Another Super Eagles star and Bordeaux winger, Samuel Kalu, has tested positive for COVID-19 after compatriot and Genk striker, Paul Onuachu.
The Nigerian has been in quarantine in France since returning from Nigeria.
According to a report by AFP, Kalu was the player announced by the club to have contracted COVID-19 on July 6.
It was gathered that the 22-year-old player missed the team’s training sessions since the opening of camp and might be left out of some of the club’s pre-season games, though he is expected to rejoin the squad on July 27 if his test return negative.
Meanwhile, Onuachu has tested confirmed negative according to results from his last tests.
After starting his career at GBS Academy in Jos, Nigeria, Kalu had gone on to play at Slovak’s AS Trenčín and Belgian KAA Gent before signing for Bordeaux in August 2018.
He scored his first goal for the Super Eagles in October, 2018, as a final goal in a 4-0 victory against Libya.
