The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have announced they will step back as “senior” royals and divide time between the UK and North America.
They said they intend to “work to become financially independent.”
This was contained in a statement released by Buckingham Palace in which the couple said they plan to “carve out a progressive new role within this institution”, though they would continue to ”fully support Her Majesty The Queen”.
In their statement, which was also posted on their Instagram page, the couple said they made the decision after months of reflection and deliberations.
However, the Royal Family are said to be “hurt” as Prince Harry and Meghan did not inform any senior royal before the announcement.

It would be recalled that last October, five months after their wedding, the couple publicly revealed their struggles under the media spotlight.
