The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Caleb Ikechukwu, has bagged Public Relations Officer of the Year Award at the TMnews Magazine Summit in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Ikechukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, was conferred with the award in recognition of his dedication to the synergy between the public and the police, the organisers said.
The spokesperson was awarded alongside other police officers who distinguished themselves in the line of duty.
Newsafresh.com recalls that the Ekiti Police Command image maker was recently presented with an award of Outstanding Performance in the Security of Lives and Properties in the state.
Caleb Ikechukwu hails from Ngor-Okpala Local government Area of Imo State. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State and a Masters of Engineering in Structural Engineering from Bayero University, Kano State.
He obtained a certificate in Negotiation and Conflict Management from the United States Institute of Peace and a certificate of Public Relations Strategies and Communication Skills from the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University.
He enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2010.
His police career progression have seen him serve in the North West, South West and South-South geo-political zones of the country.
He was a Unit Commander in the Nigeria Mobile Force before becoming the police spokesman in Ekiti State.
To further enrich himself professionally, he attended a professional course on Security Management Training at the United Nation’s Department of Safety and Security and also studied Conflict Analysis at the United States Institute of Peace.
He served as a peace keeper in Liberia.
He is currently a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
