Justice Abdul Dogo of the Federal High Court, Akure, the Ondo State capital, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Dogo was reportedly abducted on Tuesday along with his driver at Ibilo/Isua Akoko axis, a border area between Ondo and Edo states, while returning to Akure from Abuja.
Newsafresh.com gathered that the police orderly attached to the judge was not with him at the time of the incident as they did not travel together.
At the time of filing this report, the abductors were said to have made contact and demanded for a ransom of N50 million.
The incident has been confirmed by the Ondo State police spokesman, Femi Joseph, while the command is currently working with police in Edo to secure Justice Dogo’s release.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has directed the head of the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari, to rescue Justice Dogo from his abductors.
