Ahead of the final election of its presidential candidate, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors have listed five aspirants to participate at today’s primary.
Governor Simon Lilongwe of Plateau State made the revelation to newsmen in Abuja, saying the motive was to be more realistic without sentiments.
The five preferred candidates, all from the South, are: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chibuike Amaechi, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Dave Umahi and Kayode Fayemi.
Lilongwe disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari had asked the Progressives Governors’ Forum to reduce the number of aspirants and submit their names to the party, adding that the five aspirants have been advised to agree on one candidate among themselves.
Meanwhile, the list was mainly a suggestion as the party moves to choose its candidate without rancour.
