A baby boy has been abandoned in a maternity home by his parents in Ilesa, Osun State, hours after his premature birth.
According to a statement by the Coordinating Director of the Osun State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Jide Falade, the mother of the baby was reportedly rushed to Aseyori Ni Temi Clinic and Maternity Home by her husband and mother-in-law with a complaint of stomach ache on Monday, February 14.
After several medical examinations, she gave birth to a premature baby boy but later absconded alongside the other adults, leaving the baby behind.
Falade, while appealing to members of the public to assist in locating the relatives or parents of the baby, said all efforts by the Police and the ministry to find the runaway parents had proved abortive so far.
