Certified Coding: Earn While You Learn, Pay When You Earn

Would you love an affordable virtual coding course from certified tutors? Would you love to pay with tasks from tutors if you can’t afford the fee?

Don’t miss the following information:

Data from Global Workspace Analytics shows that regular remote work among the non-self-employed population has increased by 175% between 2005 and 2020. This trend is set to continue a geometric increase given the impact of COVID-19 on the world economy and travel.

The demand for programmers will simply increase in the coming years. Coding is an opportunity to get a better income and to be a part of the digital economy, whether fresh out of school or later as a career transition, and there’s a huge demand for these types of roles.

When we started to look at the coding education landscape for foreigners, we were really surprised to see that the job offering just didn’t match the demand.

This has inspired ClassVisa, a US-based startup, to offer remote tech development training and apprenticeship to job-seekers in countries of Africa and other developing countries as well as connecting successful participants who go through the 6 months training to remote job opportunities in the US.

Why ClassVisa?

Universities are too expensive for most people. Coding Boot camps are usually full-time programs that are expensive, even if cheaper than universities. And they’re also only available in big US cities and then finally, most people can’t quit their jobs. So, the full-time programs really don’t fit with what the market is asking for.

Consequently, ClassVisa is a solution people are looking for because we are the first and only Boot camp that’s truly affordable.

ClassVisa offers an affordable coding Bootcamp training with several payment options that allows every class of willing jobseeker to enroll and be trained by certified US-based tutors, get matched with US-based tech companies for apprenticeship and get connected to remote jobs at the completion of training.

The first part of the training program is a 4-week introductory course termed ClassVisa Open to determine how much the trainee is a fit for the entire Bootcamp. A self-paced basic coding course is available free-of-charge here.

Successful trainees who have displayed a keen desire to learn and solve problems with a can-do attitude and impeccable punctuality are allowed to move to the next stage of the Bootcamp – the Core Course, which includes both training and pre-apprenticeship.

Affordable and easy payment types

An average coding Bootcamp in the US costs between $10,000 – $25,000 for a 6-month program, this amount will be out-of-reach for most of the teeming unemployed or underemployed who may be willing to pursue this career advancement path. ClassVisa has devised a work-study and Income Share Agreement (ISA) model to ensure finance is not a barrier to achieving the dream of becoming a software developer.

There are three payment types available:

  • Upfront payment is $5,000 for those who can afford a one-off payment with no charges during the Bootcamp or after graduating from the program.
  • The deferred tuition arrangement offers the opportunity of a $150/month payment during the 6-month period of the Bootcamp and a $10,000 installment payment spread over a 2-year period, taken from trainee’s income after job placement on completing the 6-month Bootcamp.
  • Meanwhile, it is imperative to cater for those who may not have the resources to afford even the monthly $150 payment. This class of trainees can qualify for the Bootcamp without paying a dime, by passing a 14-Day coding challenge and having demonstrable marketable skill such as in graphic design, content writing, basic web design, audio/visual design & development, etc. This model requires no down payment or monthly payment during the 6-month period. To cater for their tuition, students are given periodic tasks/gigs through ClassVisa small business partners; payment for these tasks are used to cater for trainee’s tuition while trainees get a monthly stipend from ₦15,000 ($30) guaranteed to up to 50% of total payment for their gigs when it exceeds $200, depending on the volume and complexity of tasks trainees can complete each month. To remain eligible for the core program, trainees must maintain at least 90% class attendance and complete at least 10 hours of gig tasks per week. Upon Bootcamp completion and job placement, trainees pay an ISA of $12,000 as mentioned above.

Our students can take our Bootcamp while continuing to work and because we made it part-time, flexible, and online during the week with live classes on weekends.

Finally, contrary to many Boot camps, we are not available only in US cities but starting to spread to hundreds of countries through partnerships with tech hubs and schools.
